About the Clatskanie Historical Society

Founded in 1998, the Clatskanie Historical Society’s mission is to preserve the rich history of our small town and operate a museum to display artifacts, documents, photographs, and archives about the Clatskanie area. For its first 20 years, the local museum was housed in three different locations. In 2017, the Clatskanie Senior Citizens allowed the Historical Society to move its museum into the Thomas J. Flippin House – The Castle, at 620 SW Tichenor Street in Clatskanie.

We invite those interested in local history to visit the museum.
